Running Via Alpina

Running 2,000 kilometers across the Alps – from Trieste to Monaco.

In the summer of 2025, Magdalena Kalus and Susann Lehmann ran the Via Alpina in 50 days – the longest long-distance hiking trail through the Alps.

What began as a sporting adventure turned into an experience of pushing limits: extreme weather, exhaustion, illness, and difficult decisions defined the journey.

Running Via Alpina is a documentary about endurance, mental strength, friendship, and the question of what it means to keep going when nothing is easy anymore.

The film doesn’t just follow an athletic achievement; it shows how a joint project becomes a mental and emotional experience of testing one’s limits.
